Business Development Representative


Summary / Role Purpose

The Business Development Representative plays a key role in creating and developing opportunities for generating new business within the company. This is a role for a professional looking for an opportunity with significant growth potential.

You will partner with our sales and marketing teams to uncover and nurture leads with the goal of delivering qualified opportunities for Nullspace’s next generation technology. In addition to lead generation and development you would also be responsible for updating the CRM database with information gathered with each engagement.

You will succeed in this role by generating qualified leads through significant engagement in a business-to-business environment and use of multi-platform database resources to identify and profile new customers, the opportunity to work with account teams to expand existing accounts (blue chip OEM’s) will also be presented to the right candidate. You should be an active team player, fostering sales and marketing collaboration and alignment towards joint goals, this may be the role for you.

Nullspace is an early stage, next-generation physics simulation company that offers the right candidate the opportunity to grow with the company. You will receive coaching (over 50 years combined experience) from our executive team in: marketing, sales and broader engineering software market trends.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Hunting and qualifying sales leads, uploading clean data into the CRM

• Identifying opportunities for growth within existing accounts (A&D)

• Generating new business and interest through new logo prospecting and account-based programs, involving email, calling campaigns and in person conferences

• Effectively partner and work across sales and marketing to achieve company targets

• Research, identify and create new market opportunities through targeted engagement into prospect accounts

• Collaborate with marketing team on campaigns (including: marketing materials, seminars, webinars, events, trade shows and digitally-led customer engagement programs) and ensure traffic generation at these events

• Ensure the data integrity & consistency in CRM by updating the lead and/or contact info and account/prospect intelligence gathered to provide visibility to market opportunities.

• Develop and communicate ongoing improvements to the process of prospecting for and qualifying leads


Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or related field with 1+ years’ experience in a sales or presales environment of complex technical / industrial software products

• Demonstrated outstanding record of customer service and customer satisfaction

• Experience in leveraging social media to identify and engage with key decision makers

• Excellent telephone etiquette and computer literacy skills

• Understanding of sales automation tools and the sales process

• Well-organized, self-directed team player

• Fluent in English - verbal and written

• Travel: 15 - 40%
